Meeting

Deb Taylor called the meeting to order at approximately 6:00 p.m. in the Heritage Room at Plymouth Congregational Church, 925 Vermont. Minutes of the September 11, 2009 meeting were presented. Mike made and Carlos seconded a motion to accept the minutes; they were approved on a voice vote.  

 

The Board performed a mini postmortem on the 2009 Festival of Cultures. All members agreed that we should do this again. Deb mentioned that she will not be the organizer of the event this year and wants someone on the board to take on this task. Members agreed that the volunteers were terrific. All agreed that our Alliance table could be better organized for next time.

 

Guest John Wysocki spoke about the 1996 Celebration of Cultures in Lawrence as well as the 1991 Harvest of Arts. He noted his involvement in these events; he also noted that Lawrence as a community responds well to these types of events which is why they should be continued.

 

Adjournment

Sarah made and Asra seconded a motion to adjourn the meeting at approximately 7:24 p.m. The motion was approved on a voice vote.
