Meeting

Deb Taylor called the meeting to order at approximately 6:05 p.m. in the auditorium at Plymouth Congregational Church, 925 Vermont. Minutes of the May 13, 2009 meeting were presented. Sarah made and Asra seconded a motion to accept the minutes; they were approved on a voice vote.  

 

The Board continued its discussion on the Festival of Cultures. Asra said she will ask a Boy Scout and Girl Scout group if they might be interested in volunteering at the event. Susan agreed to find out how we can get an interview in the Journal World. Everyone reiterated the groups they plan to contact for the FOC.

 

Deb recommended and asked that the Board allow Sarah to be the Treasurer. The Board accepted the recommendation. Deb plans to send all banking material to Sarah in upcoming months.

 

The Board discussed possible places to store Lawrence Alliance office information. Deb noted that she has stored the material at her house as Barbara Bonnekessen did before her (after we lost our free office space years ago). Sarah suggested that we get used file cabinets with locks and then see if we can store these cabinets at the Neighborhood Resources Dept (which is owned by the City). Susan mentioned that the Unitarian Church might have space to let us store stuff there as well. Deb suggested that we actively pursue these options after the Festival.

 

Adjournment

Sarah made and Chris seconded a motion to adjourn the meeting at approximately 7:25 p.m. The motion was approved on a voice vote.
